Virtual Author Visits

We love connecting with readers in their classrooms and libraries, so every month, on Twitter, we give away free 30-minute virtual author visits.

A virtual author visit includes a panel of three Authorcade authors and an opportunity for readers to ask questions and learn more about the authors and their books. Each visit concludes with book-talks about exciting new books we know middle grade readers will love.

To learn more about how to win a free visit for your classroom or library, follow @mgauthorcade on Twitter and watch for the opportunity to enter.

Did you win an Authorcade classroom visit? Congratulations! One of our authors will reach out to you with details and information about how to schedule your visit. In the meantime, check out the tips below for how to make the most of your author visit.

What are Educators Saying
About Authorcade Visits?!?

"Our school’s 100 fifth grade students had the pleasure of participating in a visit with three amazing MG Authorcade authors. Students enjoyed hearing about the authors’ latest releases, where they find their inspiration for writing, and their favorite books. Students left the visit racing for the media center to check out books written by the authors and the books that the authors recommended, too. The visit was a wonderful way to generate excitement about reading and writing. Thank you to the authors for providing such an engaging experience for our students!"

Tips for Successful Authorcade Visits

You will receive an email in advance with the names of the three authors who will be visiting your class, as well as a link to our Authors page.

The basic schedule for our 30-minute time together will look like this:

  • First 5 minutes: We will introduce ourselves and our books

  • Middle 20 minutes: Q&A from the students (facilitated by you)

  • Last 5 minutes: Book recommendations from us

To make the most of our time together, here are some simple things you can do to help:

  • Familiarize your students with us and our books in advance. Each author has specific educator resources linked on their Author pages on our website.

  • Help your students generate questions in advance. We will have richer conversations if they are prepared and ready to go.

  • Send us the link to join your classroom several days in advance so that we will be prepared on the day of the visit.
